Urban Art Trek

The Bishop Arts District offers salons, shops and bistros for your cultural desires and entertainment. Even better is the great art work and color splashes throughout walk-ways.

Another trip back to The Soda Gallery. Check them out on Facebook. They showcase various artists' artwork inside and have special gallery events from time to time. Oh and of course, don't forget to try their yummy variety of fizzy treats.
A Piet Mondrian-esque floor pattern.
Another view of the bathroom from the vanity area. How creative!
They often rotate out various pop art pieces.
Bang, boom, pow! Holy smokes Batman!
Ready for a break. What to choose? Hmmm......
Many options from around the US and the world.
Mom and my nephew enjoying their fizzy treats before we head back outside.
The Bishop Street Market offers a  variety of candles, lotions, cards and art pieces.
Worn out, but happy.

Argh!!!

I am having some difficulties getting pics to upload on my blog. I've been doing so many things that I've wanted to share. Without the pics, it's a list of words, but it will have to do for now.

This past weekend I went to the Southside on Lamar Lofts Flea Market and had a blast!!! It began with a bite of tenderness at Off the Bone BBQ. I had the chicken with beans and potato salad. Yum-O. Washed it down with cool and refreshing ice tea. Next, we (my friend Nancy, along with some other folks) meandered down the block to the market. Lots of vintage finds and abstract art pieces. I managed to snatch up a cute, eclectic clutch, while Nancy snagged a cool, vintage martini shaker set and an owl-decorated box purse. We were able to take a brief break at Opening Bell coffee house, located in the basement below, before heading back to relook at some things. The crowd had dispersed by then, so it gave us a better opportunity to mull over some potential purchases.

All in all, it was chill day. The weather was PERFECT--sunny and cool, and it felt good to be out and about on a Saturday in South Dallas. Definitely looking forward to our next adventure. - EF.
